SubC Imaging is a Canadian company based in Clarenville, Newfoundland and Labrador that specializes in developing advanced underwater imaging systems. Founded in 2010 by Chad Collett, SubC Imaging’s mission is to continuously create the most technologically advanced and intelligent subsea imaging equipment and software for marine research, offshore oil and gas, aquaculture, fisheries, and other industries.

The company’s imaging systems are used in a range of applications, including offshore oil and gas exploration, marine research, and underwater inspection and maintenance. SubC Imaging has grown into a successful company with 25 employees that produces a range of underwater cameras and software tools for processing and analyzing underwater images and video.

The company is known for its high-resolution cameras that can capture images and video in low-light conditions. SubC Imaging’s software tools are designed to help customers extract valuable insights and data from the images and video captured by its cameras. Beyond key offshore industry applications in oil and gas, fisheries, defense, and ocean sciences; SubC’stechnology can be found in use on Oceangate the Titanic expedition, and an international Antarctic expedition to find, film, and study the colossal squid in the deep sea for the first time.

SubC Imaging won the Outstanding Incubator Graduate Award from the US based National Business Incubation Association. Out of six possible award categories, SubC Imaging is the only Canadian company to receive an award. The NBIA Incubation Awards honor the top business incubators, client companies and graduates that exemplify the best in the industry.

In addition to its focus on developing advanced imaging systems, SubC Imaging is also involved in charitable initiatives and community outreach programs. The company sponsors the Kids Eat Smart Breakfast Program at Riverside Elementary, contributes an annual scholarship to a graduate of Clarenville High School, and donates to various local sports teams and organizations. SubC employees also volunteer at the Riverside Elementary Breakfast Program and participate in community events such as the Power to Hope 5K Run and the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Big Bike Ride. The company also makes annual contributions to Plan Canada International Inc., with a particular focus on the Because I Am A Girl campaign.
