How to get Involved

Your input, participation and ideas are needed at the Chamber

You can be part of the solution to encourage business activity and growth in Clarenville.

The best way to build relationships with area businesses and become more knowledgeable about what is going on in the Clarenville area is to join a Chamber committee. The Chamber is a membership organization led by volunteers. Chamber committees are organized to provide membership input on Chamber services, address issues and recommend responses to the Chamber board.

Most Chamber committees meet once a month for an hour, so you can get a great return for a minimal investment of time. Participation on a committee is open to all Chamber Members. Please review the descriptions of the committees below and contact the appropriate staff to get involved!

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee ensures that all financial matters are researched, proving the purpose for expending funds is in keeping with the Chamber policies and procedures. The committee advises the President and the Board on financial matters and prepares the annual budget for approval by the Board.

This is for you if: You would like to be involved in shaping the Chamber’s growth.

Profit Committee
The Profit Committee is responsible for establishing policy and allocating resources necessary to carry out all projects which generate funds for the Chamber. The Newfoundland & Labrador Christmas Ornament Project is how the Chamber remains self-sufficient. The committee will oversee marketing initiatives, budget projections, monitor sales and investigate new markets for the product.

This is for you if: You are a marketing professional in the area and would like to put your skills to work for the Chamber.

Public Relations/Membership Committee
The Membership Committee focuses on the recruitment and retention of Chamber members through membership recruitment programs, and works to ensure that members are well connected and getting the most from their Chamber investment. Projects include: membership recruitment campaign, prospective member luncheons, member-to-member visits, meetings for new or inactive members.

This is for you if: You like to make new business contacts or want to expand your Chamber member contacts though development and retention efforts.

If you would like to join one of our committees or learn more, please send an e-mail to info@clarenvilleareachamber.com or call 466-5800

Events Committee

Each year the committee evaluates the Show and uses the information to focus on improving the following years event. Two full-time employees are hired to work solely on the event and meet regularly with the volunteer committee members.
