Meridian Engineering

Meridian Engineering Inc., incorporated in June, 2011. At that time they had a staff of 12 persons. Since then they have grown to a staff of 14 persons, and are presently recruiting two additional persons, an engineer and a technologist. Upon hiring these individuals their staff of 16 would represent a 33% increase within the last two years.

While 14 persons or (16 persons) would not represent a large staff relative to some other local companies, it was recently pointed out to them that due to the type of professionals they employ their payroll would be approximately equivalent to a staff of 50 in a typical retail employer.

Meridian Engineering Inc are fortunate to have many long standing traditional clients that they have been serving since the days of their original predecessor company, Davis Engineering, over 25 years ago. They are also very busy these days with the Hebron project, both with the Topsides and GBS. In fact, they have three staff seconded to the project for all of 2013 while they also continue to support the project design needs from our office here in Clarenville.

Steve indicated that it is satisfying to be a partner in a company that is 100% owned by Newfoundland engineers who work there every day and return to their homes in Clarenville each evening. In a relatively small town like Clarenville, you truly feel that the success within your own company extends beyond the owners and staff and it makes a meaningful contribution to the economic prosperity of the community as a whole.
