Dr. Debora Halleran

Debora was born and raised in England.

She received her optometry degree from the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology (UWIST) and after her residency became a Fellow of the British Optometric Association and a Fellow of the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers.

Debora earned her licensed to practice optometry in Newfoundland in 1980 and became a founding Fellow of the British College of Optometrists.

Debora held the position of secretary of the Newfoundland Association of Optometrists for a number of years.

Debora has served in several volunteer capacities while living in Clarenville. She was the Chairperson of the Clarenville Primary School and Middle School councils. She was a leader in Sparks, Brownies and Pathfinders and served as treasurer for the Flying Blades Figure Skating Club for a number of years.

She was a member of the Clarenville orchestra and Ladies Chorale.

She was a committee member for the Clarenville Events Centre and was a volunteer with the Red Cross.

Debora’s interests include hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, yoga and travelling, especially experiencing new cultures, food and observing the flora and fauna.
